Amanita -a deadly group
This beautiful mushroom is a young Panther Cap - it sits in a volval sack which has the appearance of a plant pot -beautiful but deadly. You should not pick this mushroom

Colorful Boletus
These are quite a difficult group to identify and include the Iodine, Scarletina, and Bitter boletus to name just three. The flesh can change colour when cut and this can be diagnostic.
This specimen shows a blackened base when cut and so is an Iodine Boletus

Foraging Trips 2012
I will be conducting foraging trips between August and October.
These will be held around the North Manchester/Saddleworth area.
Foraging trips will be typically 2- 3 hours and include a safety briefing and tuition on the different types of fungus to be found. As there are well over 2000 species of mushroom I will be focusing on edible funghi only.
Cost is £25 per person - refunded if we find nothing. Special rates can be arranged for groups. No groups over 6 on any forage
